Founded in 1947, IS&T is a professional international organization dedicated to keeping members and the broader community apprised of the latest scientific and technological developments in imaging — through conferences, educational programs, and peer-reviewed publications.
The first place technical professionals and users go for knowledge on techniques, processes, and systems for imaging.
IS&T encompasses all aspects of imaging science, with particular emphasis on digital printing, electronic imaging, color science, image preservation, photofinishing, pre-press technologies, hybrid imaging systems, and silver halide research.
In 1947, a group of 81 researchers from the National Archives, US Navy, National Bureau of Standards, MIT, Georgetown University, Bell & Howell, and Eastman Kodak worked together to form the Society of Photographic Engineers. The Society changed its name in April 1957 to the Society of Photographic Scientists and Engineers (SPSE), and again on January 29, 1992 to the Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T).
This site introduces IS&T and its peer-reviewed journals for the Chinese imaging community at imaging.org.cn.
IS&T publishes peer-reviewed research that documents imaging science, bridges perception and technology, and advances electronic imaging systems.
Broad coverage of imaging research, development, and applications — from digital fabrication and color science to machine vision and quality evaluation.
